had a fantastic time at ostella cottage in ella. exceeded my expectations with stunning views, comfy bed, and friendly atmosphere. breakfast was delicious and free. would highly recommend this hidden gem in the hills.

This place is fantastic! the location is amazing, up a steep hill with beautiful views from the terrace. the Tuk Tuk ride to town is only 200lkr. the owner, Ja, is really friendly and speaks fluent English. He gives great advice on saving money and there's a nice atmosphere. Breakfast is delicious, Sri Lankan style.
Felt so welcome, no complaints.

The location of the cottage is perfect for nature lovers, with stunning views of waterfalls and mountain ranges. the surrounding area is filled with lush vegetation and beautiful scenery, ideal for hiking and exploring. the hosts are very friendly and accommodating, providing a delicious and hearty breakfast every morning. they offer scooter rentals at a good price, making it convenient to explore the area.
Some people may find the location a bit remote and away from the touristy city center.

Hidden hillside location, tidy room, attentive staff. Private breakfast on terrace, great value for money. Short tuk tuk ride to town center or 15 min walk.

I loved my stay at this hotel! The atmosphere was amazing, with only solo travelers during my four-night stay, making it easy to meet new people. The daily breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. The location, although a bit uphill, was still easily walkable from the city center and train station. Plus, the peaceful and quiet surroundings offered fine views for sunrise.
